The history of the lodge…
My family has been living in Blaye for a long time. At the turn of the 20th century, they worked in the town center as salvagers and ragpickers. After the First World War, my grandmother founded the antiques business that my parents will continue to develop until today. On my side, after more than 10 years spent in Asia in the wine business, I decide in 2014 to join the family business in the art trade.
In 2015, the city proposed the acquisition of barracks in the heart of the citadel of Blaye.
Inhabited and impassioned by this magical place classified UNESCO, my wife and I decided to take over four barracks. In 2017, we opened the first artisanal ice cream shop in the Blaye region with our own manufacturing laboratory.
In 2022, we offer for rent the Antiquarian Lodging
Around the lodging…
The opportunity to spend authentic moments by returning to the past. Visit the Citadel of Blaye by walking or by the underground passages (visit proposed by the Tourist Office) but also the museum of archaeology and history in Blaye.
For a simple stroll, we advise you to take “la route de la corniche” south of Blaye to reach two typical villages. The first is Plassac and its contemporary mosaics and the second is Bourg with its Citadel. Further north, discover the port of callonges in Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde where you will have the opportunity to admire the carrelets.
The Pair-non-Pair cave in Prignac-Et-Marcamp offers you a trip back in time with parietal engravings dating from the Upper Paleolithic, that is to say 30,000 years before our era.
Treat yourself
